Ashaar - Theme based sher-o-shaayari (Urdu poetry)

Ashaar is a mailing list for theme based sher-o-shaayari. From time to time we select a theme or topic which is popular in Urdu poetry and send a collection of ashaar (couplets) on that topic to our susbcribers.

Ashaar is a moderated announcement-type mailing list. What this means is that membership to the mailing list is restricted and only the moderator is allowed to post. Subscription requests take a few hours to be approved. Once membership is approved, subscribers receive the posts via e-mail. They can read the posts online at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ashaar/. Previous posts are also archived here.

Subscribers are welcome to send in their favourite ashaar (couplets) on the selected theme by the specified deadline. The contributions can be sent by e-mail to moderator@urdupoetry.com or online through the feedback form.
