jaa.N kaalabad-e-suurat-e-diivaar me.n aave

saaye kii tarah saath phire.n sarv-o-sanobar
tuu is qad-e-dilakash se jo gulazaar mw.n aave

tay naaz-e-giraa.Nmaayagii-e-ashk bajaa hai
jab laKht-e-jigar diidaa-e-Khuu.Nbaar me.n aave

[bajaa=correct; laKht=piece/fragment; diidaa=sight; Khuu.Nbaar=shedding blood]

de mujhako shikaayat kii ijaazat ki sitamagar
kuchh tujhako mazaa bhii mere aazaar me.n aave

us chashm-e-fusuu.Ngar kaa agar paaye ishaaraa

kaa.Nto.n kii zabaa.N suukh gayii pyaas se yaa rab
ik aabalaapaa vaadii-e-puraKhaar me.n aave

mar jaauu.N na kyo.n rashk se jab vo tan-e-naazuk
aaGosh-e-Khaam-e-halqaa-e-zunnaar me.n aave

[rashk=jeaously; tan-e-naazuk=having delicate body; aaGosh=embrace]
[Khaam=raw/crude; halqaa=circle; zunnaar=sacred thread worn by Hindus]

Gaaratagar-e-naamuus na ho gar havas-e-zar
kyo.n shaahid-e-gul baaG se baazaar me.n aave

[Gaarat=ravage; naamuus=reputation/honour]
[zar=money/wealth; shaahid=sweetheart ]

tab chaak-e-girebaa.N kaa mazaa hai dil-e-naadaa.N
jab ik nafas ulajhaa huaa har taar me.n aave

[chaak=torn; girebaaN=collar; nafas=breath]

aatish_kadaa hai siinaa meraa raaz-e-nihaa.N se
de vaaye agar ma'ariz-e-izhaar me.n aave

[raaz-e-nihaa.n=hidden secrets; ma'ariz=boundary]

ga.njiinaa-e-ma'anii kaa talism usako samajhiye
jo lafz kii "Ghalib" mere ashaar me.n aave
