Every year, there is an annual 'mushaira' held in 
the Lal Qila (Red Fort) grounds in New Delhi just 
prior to Republic Day. This is perhaps the most 
prestigious mushaira in India. This year, the 
'mushaira' was held on 23rd of January and since
I was in India, I had the good fortune to attend 
it. 

Over the next few days, I will be presenting some 
of the ghazals of newer poets present at the 'mushaira'.


tumhe.n hai shauq agar bijaliyaa.N giraane kaa
hamaaraa kaam bhii hai aashiyaa.N banaane kaa

bhalaa vo kaise samandar ke paar utaregaa
