Another Jagjit Singh Gazal, this time from his relatively new album Love 
is Blind. I am not a big fan of Jagjit Singh's newer albums. His efforts 
to help the non-profit organisations notwithstanding, the quality of his 
selection has been steadily on the decline. Today's Gazal has overtones 
of "baat nikalegii to phir..." but comes nowhere near in conveying the 
feelings portrayed in the nazm.


kabhii Khaamosh baiThogii kabhii kuchh gun-gunaaogii 
mai.n utanaa yaad aaoo.ngaa mujhe jitanaa bhulaaogii 

ko_ii jab puuchh baiThegaa Khaamoshii kaa sabab tum se 
bahut samajhaanaa chaahogii magar samajhaa na paaogii 

kabhii duniyaa muqammal banake aaye.ngii nigaaho.n me.n 
kabhii merii kabhii duniyaa kii har ek rain bitaaogii 

kahii.n par bhii rahe.n ham to muhabbat phir muhabbat hai 
tumhe.n ham yaad aaye.nge hame.n tum yaad aaogii
