yuu.N dostii ke naam ko rusavaa na kiijiye 
tark-e-ta'alluqaat kaa charchaa na kiijiye 

[tark = give up; ta'alluqaat = relationship]

jurm-o-sitam kaa paas bhii ulfat me.n shart hai 
palako.n ko aa.Nsuuo.n se bhigoyaa na kiijiye 

[paas = sustenance]

aisaa na ho ummiid se rishtaa hii TuuT jaaye 
har roz mujhase vaadaa-e-fardaa na kiijiye 

[fardaa = tomorrow]

hamdard jis ko apanaa samajhate rahe hai.n aap 
us kaa hii zi.ndagii me.n bharosaa na kiijiye 

"Mahir" vafuur-e-Gam se na ghabaraa_iye kabhii 
Khuddaarii-e-hayaat ko rusavaa na kiijiye 

[vafuur = abundance]
