Khuun ban kar munaasib nahii.n dil bahe
dil nahii.n maanataa kaun dil se kahe

[munaasib = proper]

terii duniyaa me.n aaye bahut din rahe
sukh ye paayaa ki hamane bahut dukh sahe

bulbule.n gul ke aa.Nsuu nahii.n chaaTatii.n
un ko apane hii marGuub hai.n chah_chahe

[chaaTanaa = to lick; marGuub = to like or find plesant]

aalam-e-naz'a me.n sun rahaa huu.N mai.n kyaa
ye aziizo.n kii chiiKhe.n hai yaa qah_qahe

[naz'a = last breath; aziizo.n = dear ones]
[chiiKhe.n = screams; qah_qahe = laughter]

is naye husn kii bhii adaayo.n pe ham
mar miTe.nge ba_sharte ki zi.ndaa rahe

[ba_sharte = on the condition (that...)]

Friends, 

I got so many e-mails asking me who I am and what 
I do that I thought it would be better if I just 
posted the answer here. You are more than welcome
to skip it.:-) For those of you who are interested,
here is a small self-portrait:

I am a software engineer working as a consultant. 
I live in Orange County, South California. My 
husband is a SAP consultant. I have a four month 
old daughter. Her name is Zoya. I hold a bachelor's 
degree in Mathematics and a masters in Computer Science.

I love books, more than ghazals, if that is possible. 
I love listening to old Indian film songs. My other 
hobbies include mainly traveling and photography.
