vaqt jo mere iKhtiyaar me.n thaa
mai.n usii vaqt ke hisaar me.n thaa

[iKhtiyaar = control; hisaar = grasp/hold]


Khii.nch laayaa use bhii maqtal tak 
vo jo ik lutf iqtadaar me.n thaa

[maqtal = place of killing; lutf = enjoyment; iqtadaar = social prestige]


kal huaa qatl shahar jis ke sabab
husn ab bhii usii singaar me.n thaa

[sabab = reason]


lauT aa_uu.Ngaa surKh-ruu ho kar
saaraa lashkar is intezaar me.n thaa

[surKh-ruu = victorious; lashkar = army]
