Before I present ghazal #3 from the Begum Akhtar album, 
I would like to apologise for not including the meaning of 
'paamaal-e-Gam' in yesterday's post. The meaning would 
be "crushed by sorrow".

And now on to the Ghazal of the Day:

dil kii lagii ko aur vo bha.Dakaa rahe hai.n aaj
sar-taa-ba-paa bahaar bane jaa rahe hai.n aaj

[sar-taa-ba-paa = from head to toe]


jaise ke ho rahaa hai tuluu-e-aaftaab-e-naaz
kuchh aisii shaan se vo chale aa rahe hai.n aaj

[tuluu = dawn; aaftaab = Sun]


Thukaraa ke iltijaa ko paa-e-Guruur se
armaano.n kaa vo Khuun kiye jaa rahe hai.n aaj

[iltijaa = request/plea; Guruur = pride]


vo pyaar kii fizaaye.n vo rangiin sohabate.n
manzar vo saare shauq ke yaad aa rahe hai.n aaj

[manzar = scene]


"Yahya" gilaa kare.n bhii to kis baat kaa kare.n
apane kiye kii aap sazaa paa rahe hai.n aaj

[gilaa = complain]
