saaqiyaa ik nazar jaam se pahale pahale
ham ko jaanaa hai kahii.n shaam se pahale pahale

Khush huaa ai dil ke muhabbat to nibhaa dii tuune
log uja.D jaate hai.n anjaam se pahale pahale

ab tere zikr pe ham baat badal dete hai.n
kitanii raGabat thii tere naam se pahale pahale

saamane umr pa.Dii hai shab-e-tanhaa_ii kii 
vo mujhe chho.D gayaa shaam se pahale pahale

Moderator's Note:

It was brought to my notice that I had incorrectly given 
the poet of MeG #580 as Firaq Gorakhpuri. The poet is
Faiz Ahmed Faiz. The confusion probably occured due
to the presence of the word "firaaq" in the last sher of the 
ghazal. My apologies!
