Just wanted to stop and look back to when Mehfil-e-Gazal (MeG) 
was first started on 1st July, 1998. Three years have passed. 
In these three years, it has undergone many changes and seen 
many ups and downs. MeG currently has 2474 active members and 
is probably the largest opt-in list dedicated to Urdu poetry 
currently active on the Web. It is amazing that so many people 
from all over the world are part of the MeG family. Some have 
been faithful subscribers from the day I started the list. I 
would like thank all of you for your support and enthusiasm 
and for being so patient with me while I tried to balance the 
needs of work and home with that of my websites and mailing 
lists. Thank you for being such a great group! I hope you will 
continue to enjoy Mehfil-e-Gazal. 

Before we proceed with today's posts, I would like to mention an 
important point about the e-mails I receive from members of MeG 
and my other mailing lists. Let me assure you that I read each and 
every one of them. Its just that it is not always possible for me 
to reply to each of the 200+ e-mails I receive everday (excluding 
spam/junk mails) though I do try my best to do so. So, if you don't 
get a reply from me, you can blame it on me and my old enemy - Time!

[surKh = red; iltijaa = plea/entreaty]
[zard = yellow/pale; shaanaa = shoulder]
