I was born in Calcutta, India. Home, for me, will always be Calcutta. It is a wonderful city, alive, warm and caring. My earliest memories are of books and music. Vividh Bharati played almost continuously on the radio. I have got my love for ghazals from my father and my love for dancing from my mother. She also passed on her love for Rabindra Sangeet (songs by Rabindranath Tagore). More about my hobbies...

I majored in Mathematics from Lady Brabourne College. After my graduation in 1992, I joined the Institute of Management Technology and studied computers, mainly software development. After successfully completing that in 1995, I went to work for DCM Data Systems, now DCM Technologies. More about my work...

I currently live in Irving, Texas - a suburb of Dallas, with my husband and daughter Zoya. I have a younger brother who lives in Calcutta, as do my parents. My parents-in-law live in New Delhi.
